Montecito Drive

1964 Mid-Century Modern 'platform house', originally designed by Richard Kearney and John Pugsley. Part of the 'Montecito Drive Residential Historic District' it is one of the contributing residences that "retain the dramatic cantilevers, modular configurations, and pre-fabricated materials which enable them to adapt to the dramatic terrain of the canyon upon which they are sited." OFICINA.LA revealed the original post and beam and used salvaged douglas fir to re-floor the house, and douglas fir plywood to construct the kitchen and millwork, bringing material consistency to the project.
