Display System for The Avery Review
The Avery Review is a bi-monthly online publication of critical essays on architecture, design, and planning. In 2015, a reading lounge for Columbia Books on Architecture and the City was constructed in Avery Hall, the main GSAPP building on Columbia's campus. The administration wished to include the Avery Review but, by design, it's continuous blog-like format renders it unable to print and view as a book. To exhibit selected articles without a networked digital interface, a format needed to be designed to replicate the scrolling action of a browser. And so a custom-designed vertical conveyor belt, rotating at two feet per minute, was developed.
